02Common questions

Which level should I start at?

If you are new to people practice, or have under two years in the field, Level 3 is the honest starting point. If you already advise managers, own a process end to end, or hold a degree and are entering at management level, Level 5 is appropriate. We assess this in a short conversation before you enrol rather than after you struggle.

Can I go straight to Level 5 without Level 3?

Yes. CIPD does not require Level 3 as a prerequisite for Level 5. What matters is whether you can produce assignment work at Level 5 standard, which usually means relevant experience or prior higher education.

How is it assessed?

By written assignment for each unit, submitted through the centre, internally verified and externally moderated by CIPD. There is no timed examination. Most learners find the writing, not the content, is the demanding part, so assignment coaching is built into every cohort.

Do you support learners whose first language is Arabic?

Yes. Facilitation, tutorials and one-to-one assignment guidance are available in Arabic. Assessment is submitted in English as the institute requires, and the support is designed around that reality rather than pretending it away.

What does membership give me?

Completion at Level 3 leads to CIPD Foundation Membership and at Level 5 to Associate Membership, with the post-nominal letters that go with it. Membership is applied for through CIPD directly and carries an annual fee separate from course fees.
